Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel: A Beautiful Thematic Hotel in Sucre, Bolivia

Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel - Sucre Bolivia - Review

Set in Sucre, the most beautiful city in Bolivia, Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel takes you back in time with its impressive colonial architecture exemplified in a small Bolivian town theme. The Spanish phrase, “mi pueblo” translates to “my town” in English. You will definitely have an unforgettable cultural experience. The different areas of the hotel serve as symbols of different aspects of a colonial village in Bolivia – the garden serves as a small town square and the rooms were made to seem like colourful houses. There is also a church, a traditional bar and a restaurant.

Hotel Room and Amenities

Our matrimonial room was fit for royalty. The intricate details of the headboard and the rest of the design elements in the room made it really classy. We had a king sized bed and a private bathroom with double showers. The room felt like it was still in a mansion. Our windows had a stunning view of the city and the garden of Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel. Room amenities include a TV with English Channels, a safe, a mini bar, a phone and central heating.

The hotel has a lot of common areas for guests which includes a garden, terraces and balconies with precious views of Sucre’s historic center. There are also computers which guests can use and wifi all throughout the hotel.

Hotel Staff

Dressed in traditional clothes, the staff of Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel surely know how to make you feel important. We were given an early check in upon our arrival and after checking out, we were graciously allowed to stay at the hotel’s common areas while we waited for our night bus. Another good thing about Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel is that there is always someone at the reception to cater for requests from guests. The hotel staff are also bilingual so it’s easy to communicate.

Traditional Bar, The Chicheria

Salud! Jon and I finally got the chance to try chicha, a traditional Andean drink in the traditional bar, The Chicheria located in Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel. We enjoyed our complimentary drinks while admiring the bar’s unique festive theme. The Chicheria is a representation of an indigenous bar that can be found in old towns of Bolivia. The bar offered different types of chicha, made from selected fruits from family farms located in the region of Chuquisaca.

Buffet Breakfast at Los Tejados Restaurant

A delicious buffet breakfast will surely brighten up your day in Mi Pueblo Samary Boutique Hotel. The buffet table included different varieties of local bread and pastries, cereals, fruits and drinks. We also had freshly cooked cheese and bacon omelettes prepared by the staff. The breakfast was really delicious! They also offer a traditional breakfast in the “Terraza del Panadero” (Baker’s Terrace) where the bread is baked in a traditional oven.
